Getting in Shape and Working out Just Got Easier

Working out at home is becoming increasingly popular. Whether you live in an apartment and don’t have room to set up all the exercise equipment you need or you just prefer exercising at home, these benefits are sure to entice you in getting some dumbbells, a jump rope, and jump into your fitness routine.

So how do you get started?

Warmup

According to Mayo Clinic warming up your body helps it be ready for aerobic activities. It might also help you avoid injury and reduce muscular discomfort. An easy stroll outside or on a treadmill, or a modest pace on a stationary cycle, could be used as a warm-up.

Aerobic

Cardiovascular exercises help lessen the risk of many conditions such as heart disease and certain types of cancer. You can try jump ropes, running, elliptical trainers and any exercise you can do that gets your heart rate up.

Resistance

Building muscles gives you many advantages in day-to-day life. It strengthens your body so you will improve your bone health, control body fat, and it gives you better balance to further reduce the risk of falls by protecting your joints.

Flexibility

If you’re one of the many people bound 8 hours a day to their chair, you may want to improve your flexibility. Give your muscles a full-range motion to prevent the back pain that’s been nagging your body.

Cooldown

If pro athletes do it, maybe you should as well. To regulate your blood flow and help your heart and blood pressure recover, you can do a cooldown similar to your warmup to officially end your routine.

If you’re in a time crunch and can’t dedicate a full hour for exercise, you can try doing shorter but harder programs to get the same results but be sure you warm-up, cool down, and you’re using the right equipment for you.
